
This is my latest project. I found a hat to go with the scarves that I've been crocheting. Both use the 5dc shell stitch. The hat is from M Wilson Designs and the scarf is from The Knotty Generation. I love both designs because they are quick and easy to crochet. Since both use the 5dc shell stitch, they go together quite nicely. I haven't tried the scarf designed expressly for the hat since I had already become so familiar with the scarf from The Knotty Generation, but it looks very similar. I plan on doing several sets in different colors and give them away as gifts next Christmas.
Do you have a copy of the pattern for the shell stitch hat? I made one a couple weeks ago and now the pattern site is gone...I loved that hat and my kids want more...I have looked everywhere for it!

Crocheted Hat Pattern
Rnd 1: Ch4, sl st to join, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join
Rnd 2: Ch4, *dc in next dc, ch 1 rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-4
Rnd 3: Sl st in next sp, ch3, 2 dc in same sp, 3 dc in each sp around, join.
Rnd 4: Sl st in next st, (ch 6, dc in same st) sk 2 dc, *V-st in next dc, sk 2 dc, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-6
Rnd 5: Beg shell in next sp, shell in each sp around, join.
Rnd 6: Sl st in each of next 2 sts, (ch 6, dc in same st) sk 4 dc *V-st in next dc, sk 4 dc, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-6.
Rnds 7-14: Rep rnds 5 and 6 alternatively.
Rnd 15: Rep rnd 5, fasten off.
